    Tour Itinerary

DAY1,Marrakech - Imi oughlad- Pass Tacht – Tizi Oussem 1950m.

After breakfast in Marrakech, we travel to Imlil of 1H30 driving from Marrakech to Imi Oughlad. Here, you will get to know your guide and mule team. When your stuff are loaded, we will begin our trail ascending up to Tizi Tacht(2005m) which affords superb views of the Imlil and Azzaden valleys. Lunch time will give us the opportunity to relax in the open calm green spaces with surprising views of the Atlas Mountains. We then head down to the village of Tizi Oussem (1900m) via Tahliouine and Id Aissa villages while witnessing Berber people in their various daily activities. The day’s trek is 6hours walking. Overnight in Berber house.

    DAY2,Tizi Oussem – Tizi Mzik – imlil – Armed.

During today’s trek, we will visit Toubkal National Park, taking in the majesty of the highest waterfalls (2300m) in the region. We then retracing the same way down, meet the path which takes us over Mzik Pass (2500m.), offering us astounding views of the Ait Mizan and Azzaden Valleys. After enjoying lunch in Mzzik, we hike up to the largest and last village of Armed in Imlil Valley. Today’s trek is 5-6 hours walking.

    DAY3,Armed –Toubkal Refuge

We begin our trek toward the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch through juniper trees. We continue east, crossing the river and arriving at the shrine of Sidi Charamouch, a favourite destination of tourists and pilgrims alike, though only Muslims may cross the stone bridge to the shrine itself. Sitting beside a small waterfall, the village is a jumbled grouping of houses that appear to melt into one another. Here the trail climbs steadily, meandering its way up toward the snowline and Toubkal Refuge. After the day's trek of approximately five hours we spend the night here, in anticipation of tomorrow's ascent to the summit.

    DAY 4,TOUBKAL REFUGE-TOUBKAL Summit-TOUBKAL REFUGE-IMLIL-Marrakech

We start our day early in preparation for the ascent to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the jewel of the Atlas. Following the southern cirque, we cross the stream above the refuge and move across one of the many scree fields. The boulders and rock fields require some negotiating. This portion of the trek is fairly simple; however, the scree and altitude can present challenges. The views afforded by the ascent will more than compensate for the effort made. As we crest the ridgeline, we arrive on the plateau. From here it is a short hike to the summit. The views from the peak are indescribable. You will know then why you made the journey. As Pliny the Roman scholar once remarked, the Atlas are "the most fabulous mountains in all of Africa." This is a long day of 9-10 hours trekking. From Imlil you will be transported back to Marrakech.
