Today, the journey continues from Fes to Ifrane known as “"Switzerland of Morocco" with its chalet like houses, built during the French protectorate as a hill station, the buildings were designed in a similar style to French Alpine villages. The plants and trees were also imported to give a European feel to the city. The name Irfane means caves and is taken from the local Amazigh language, Tamazight. It is highlighted for its low temperatures, distinctive architecture, various landscapes, lakes, streams and varied outdoor pursuits. We continue to Azrou, explore the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas and see Barbary monkeys on the way, who live in a beautiful cedar forest.
