DAY1,MARRAKECH—IMLIL—IMNANE VALLEY—TACHEDDIRT

The hike sets out through a beautiful region filled with streams and mountain paths, where, led by your very knowledgeable guide, you will hike 2 hours east toward Tizi N’Tamatert (2275m). Passing through the village, your guide will lead you to a path leading up into pine and juniper forests. A stop at the Col of Tamatert allows you to take time to appreciate the view of the Imlil and Imnane valleys, with their many Berber villages built into the mountainsides in every direction. It is a remarkable and picturesque vista of the region. Here you will be able to see Jebel Oukaimeden in the distance (3270m.) We trek on along for another hour or so along the upper valley slopes, arriving at Ouanskera and Amgdoule villages (2140m.). You will find these villages set among the terraced slopes carved into the hard mountainsides. At a place nearby which is a popular camp site, lunch will be prepared for you. Afterward, you will trek upward through the valley along mule trails, arriving at Tachedirt (2305m.) Tachedirt is the oldest village in the Toubkal Massif.
